Call for Papers
Meteorite is a student-run undergraduate philosophy journal affiliated with the philosophy department at the University of Michigan. Our mission is to promote the discussion of novel and thought-provoking philosophical ideas by providing students from diverse backgrounds an opportunity to have their original work published in an academic journal. We are now accepting undergraduate philosophy papers for consideration for our Spring 2021 issue.
All papers must be submitted by no later than January 1, 2021.
Abstract: Submissions may include an abstract of no more than 200 words – this is encouraged but not required.
Citation Style: Chicago Style citations with notes and a bibliography is strongly preferred, and authors may be asked to reformat citations if their paper is selected for publication.
Cover Page: Include a cover page with (1) your name, (2) email address, and (3) affiliated academic institution. Please insure that identifying information appears nowhere else in the paper to maintain the impartiality of our blind review process.
File Format: Submit all papers as .doc, or .docx, files and title the document ‘[Last Name, First Name] – Meteorite 2020.’
Length: Submissions should not exceed 6000 words in length and should be double spaced, Times New Roman, 12pt font. Shorter papers are also acceptable.
Originality: Our journal is committed to publishing only original student work. Plagiarism of any kind and to any degree will immediately disqualify a paper from consideration for publication.
Topic: Meteorite will be accepting papers on any philosophical topic and from any discipline for the upcoming issue.
Please email all submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line ‘[Last Name, First Name] – Meteorite 2020. Further inquiries may also be directed to that email address.
Authors of papers submitted before the deadline will be contacted by the staff at Meteorite regarding our decision. Submitting a paper to multiple journals is allowed, but we ask that you keep us informed of its publication status. Authors of selected papers will be invited to present at our Meteorite Conference in early April.
